The Golf uses a shared VAG barrel that can fail through worn wafers. Common on high-mileage MK5, MK6 and MK7 models. We carry the correct barrel and can rekey to your existing key in most cases.
Polo ignition barrel wear typically presents as the key becoming stiff before failing entirely. Common on 2009–2017 models. We stock Polo-specific barrels and replace them on-site.
Passat ignition issues are often related to the electronic steering lock on later models. We carry barrels for Passat B6 and B7 and have the tooling to handle steering lock release safely.
One of our most common commercial VAG jobs. Caddy ignition barrel wear is usually intermittent at first — the key binds occasionally before failing completely. A common pre-dawn call-out.
Tiguan models with electronic steering locks require specific tooling and a replacement barrel that matches the lock system. We carry Tiguan-specific barrels and release the steering lock without damage.
Audi shares the core VAG ignition barrel design with VW but often requires specific part numbers. We stock barrels for A3, A4 and Q3 and can recode to your existing key in most cases.
SEAT Leon ignition barrel faults follow the same pattern as the Golf — worn wafers causing key stiffness. The Leon uses the same barrel family as VW Golf MK5/MK6.
